Every so often I get a message what camera gear I or how I edit my photos. Here we go…
Personally I think people pay too much attention to whatever gear people use instead of just going out and practicing the art of photography. While I think camera and lenses are only tools to help you take photos, and it all really just depends on you, your eye, your creativity… Other times you wish your camera could do this or that in order to achieve a desired effect that you can’t with your current setup.
So there is a yes and a no to the question do you really need the latest of the latest. Anyway, here we go..
Why did u get a Mark 4 after you already had the Mark II and Mark III? I replaced my Mark II with a Mark III when Sony’s Mirrorless were not a competition at all. But why going from Mark III to Mark IV? Unfortunately all my gear got stolen so I needed a new “familiar” camera system. I know Canon has its video drawbacks but I was lucky enough to get the NEW Mark IV with CLog and Firmware 1.0.4. I also do not like the form factor and the battery life of the Sony’s. And Canon Lenses are just great. I might get a Sony as my second camera, but for now nothing will replace my Mark IV.
This baby is my perfect street photography lens. It is also great for some video since it has IS (Image Stabilisation)
Perfect All-Rounder. Though a bit heavy carrying outside at times so I usually use it to shoot studio shots or events and weddings. I love primes as they give me better image quality and more light.
PERFECT Portrait Lense. In love with the new Tamron lenses. A big step up in Quality, Focus Speed and Image Quality that equals Canon’s L lenses for a much lower budget.
Love it for my fashion and portrait shots, if it wasn’t that heavy 🙂
This flash is cheaper, made in Germany, and does the exact same thing as the overly priced Canon flashes 🙂 BTW the firmware can be updated.
Get the updated Metz 52 AF-1 though.
I use it for studio or off camera flash, never let me down. Good and reliable product.
A simple ETTL flash cord…
I am quite clumsy at times so it is good to have protection…
Very portable Softbox and easy to set up.
Really tiny and handy tripod, super easy to carry around with my Vanguard Alta 48.
Connect Manfrotto tripod with Lastolite Ezybox.
I switched to MacOS…. I love the UI, but I do not like Apples recent decisions on the new iPhones and MacBook Pros….
I love using a Tablet for editing my photos. It does take some time to get used to but in the end, I would never wanna go back to a Mouse and or the Trackpad. You will probably hate using the Pen in the first couple of days but believe me, It will speed up your workflow dramatically.
Well I guess you knew it. I use Photoshop and Lightroom. Apart from the occasional tethered shooting with Capture One Lightroom is my daily driver.
Camera and photo storage
I actually love this lightweight bag since I can carry my Macbook AND my Wacom tablet including all necessary cables, dongles (thank you Apple for that) with me
After having my LowePro Fastpack 350 AW for 5 years I actually wanted to get another Lowerpro, just bigger. I tried the LowePro Pro Tactic 450 and really loved the design and features, BUT somehow I felt the insides were too deep that lenses and cameras and other stuff would just float around. Secondly I wouldn’t have been able to fit my Macbook and my Wacom Tablet if I needed to. The Vanguard does it all and is VERY comfortable. Really love it.
I use Lacie (Porsche Design – BEAUTIFUL!!!) and Western Digital and mirror them using Chrono Sync, an amazing App to Backup, Sync etc…
Now that I have no SD Card Slot in my Macbook Pro, no USB 3 i had no choice but to join the Apple Dongle Community *haha* Not funny!
I attached those small adapters straight to the USB 3 cables of my hard drives. Bye bye dongle life, at least for my hard drives…
Other Cool Stuff
My absolut favorites, lots of my friends who are DJs recommend them too. All parts are replaceable and easy to fix if you should somehow break them. Awesome sound quality and bass…
P.S: This page is far from finished yet… I also will be planning on doing a bit of a blog, about my travels and photography. If you don’t want to miss any of that put in your EMAIL down below 🙂
